About working in United States
Overview
The USA EB-3 (Employment-Based Third Preference) Green Card program provides U.S. Permanent Residency for foreign workers who receive a permanent, full-time job offer from a U.S. employer. SkillBridge Global facilitates the placement and immigration process for qualified candidates. Available positions are in 5-star and 4-star Hotels and Hospitals, Food Service, Food Preparation, Cooking, Housekeeping, and Caregiving. This is a permanent immigration pathway — not a temporary work visa.
Why work in United States?
The EB-3 Green Card gives you the right to live and work permanently anywhere in the United States. Your spouse and unmarried children under 21 are automatically included in your application — they receive their own Green Cards and your spouse can work full-time in any occupation. Your children can attend U.S. public schools. After 5 years as a Permanent Resident, you may apply for U.S. citizenship. This is the most comprehensive and life-changing immigration benefit offered across all our programmes.
Salaries & earnings
Salary is determined by the U.S. employer in accordance with U.S. labour law, varying by position, state, and employer. Green Card holders have the same labour rights as U.S. citizens — including Federal minimum wage ($7.25/hr; many states $15+/hr), overtime pay, safe working conditions, and anti-discrimination protections. No salary is below the applicable minimum wage for the state of employment.
Cost of living
Cost of living varies significantly across U.S. states and cities. Employers provide job offers with salaries compliant with local prevailing wages under the PERM process. Detailed relocation guidance is provided during pre-departure orientation. Many hotel and hospital employers offer employee benefits including health insurance, meals, and transport.
Culture & lifestyle
U.S. work culture is professional, fast-paced, and results-driven. As a Green Card holder you have the same labour protections as any American worker under U.S. law. Employers must comply with all Federal and state labour laws. The U.S. has large and established African professional communities in cities such as New York, Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta.
